Croatia advances major sports‑stadium projects in Bjelovar and Split

The city of Bjelovar signed two key contracts on 23 July 2026 to begin reconstruction of its football stadium and the construction of a new 5,000‑seat arena, including a closed shooting range for small‑calibre firearms. Work is slated to start on 10 August, with the project aiming to meet top‑division match standards.

In Split, Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina announced a large investment cycle for sports infrastructure, citing completed political and financial decisions for the Poljud stadium and upcoming public tenders for the Spaladium Arena, Gripe Hall and the Park mladeži complex. Roughly €6.5 million was already spent on related projects, and more than €5 million in funding has been pledged for the area's upgrades.
