Croatia appoints Slaven Bilić as head coach after Zlatko Dalić steps down
Zlatko Dalić announced his departure from the Croatian national football team on 8 July 2026 and made his first public appearance on 23 July 2026, watching Varaždin defeat Czech club Jablonec 3–2 from the stands. The match was highlighted by goals from Ivan Mamutu and Luka Mamić.
Following Dalić’s exit, the Croatian Football Federation appointed former player and coach Slaven Bilić as the new head coach of the national side. The appointment marks a shift in leadership as the team prepares for upcoming international competitions.
