Croatia cities advance urban infrastructure and transport projects

Various Croatian cities are advancing major urban infrastructure and technology projects.

In Zagreb, the city has initiated public procurement for the renovation of Trg svibanjskih žrtava 1995., a project valued at 100,000 euros excluding VAT with an expected completion in spring 2027. Additionally, plans are underway to transform Stara Vlaška into a permanent pedestrian zone, with works expected to conclude by late 2026.

In Umag, the local government selected Pro Grad Inženjering for the reconstruction of Trgovačka Street. The project, valued at approximately 1.34 million euros excluding VAT, involves upgrading the 230-meter one-way thoroughfare with new paving, pedestrian safety zones, and greenery.

Čakovec is nearing the completion of its Trg Republike renovation, which aims to link the Zrinski Park and the Old Town via a new pedestrian zone. The project includes specialized stone paving and new urban lighting, with completion targeted for mid-September.

Zadar is expanding its technological infrastructure by launching a 200,000 euro procurement for the second phase of its Intelligent Transport System (ITS). This expansion will add 27 new micro-locations to the network, enhancing traffic flow analysis and emergency vehicle priority across the city.
