Croatia commemorates Homeland War volunteers

Various commemorations are being held across Croatia to honor the volunteers of the Homeland War. In Županja, the Day of Volunteers of the Homeland War of Vukovar-Srijem County was observed on October 24. The event brought together veterans, representatives of veteran associations, and officials from state and local institutions, including envoys from the President of Croatia, the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, and the Minister of Croatian Veterans.

In the Orlovac neighborhood, local authorities are marking the anniversary of the death of Dubravko Pranjić, a volunteer tank driver who died defending Vukovar in 1991. Pranjić, who was posthumously awarded several honors including the Order of Petar Zrinski and Fran Krsto Frankopan, is being remembered through traditional ceremonies, including a holy mass.
