Croatia earmarks €10 million for Bosnian Croat projects and €1.8 million for diaspora groups

The Croatian government, through the Central State Office for Croats outside Croatia, approved a €10 million program for 2026 to fund education, culture, health, agriculture and other initiatives that benefit the Croat community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Grants include €30,000 for the Youth Theatre in Vitez, €100,000 for a digital mammography unit at the Vitez health centre, €8,000 for energy stability of a cold store, and €20 000 for a roof structure at the Croatian House in Donja Večeriska, among many other projects across central Bosnia.

In a separate allocation, the same office granted €1.8 million to 125 Croatian diaspora organisations operating in 29 countries. Funding ranges from €1,000 to €50,000 per project, with the largest awards going to Revelin Medija UG in Germany and the Croatian Civil Association Jadran in Argentina. Other recipients include the Croatian‑Brazilian community in Paraná, the Croatian Catholic Mission in Dublin, NK Croatia Heilbronn in Germany, and the Croatian Catholic Mission in London. The support focuses on cultural, educational, scientific, sport and tourism activities that preserve national identity abroad.
