Croatia experiences widespread traffic disruptions due to multiple accidents

Multiple traffic accidents and vehicle breakdowns have caused significant congestion across various Croatian motorways and urban areas. On the A1 motorway, a collision at the Donja Zdenčina junction heading towards Zagreb resulted in a 10-kilometer traffic jam, with speeds restricted to 40 km/h. A second accident occurred on the A1 between the Vodice and Benkovac junctions, forcing traffic into a single lane.

In Zagreb, a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Dubrovnik Avenue and Froude Street left a 36-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured and a 46-year-old driver with minor injuries. The accident, which occurred while traffic lights were non-functional, caused Dubrovnik Avenue to close for over three hours, leading to widespread delays in New Zagreb.

Additional disruptions were reported on the A2 motorway due to a broken-down vehicle, as well as delays on the A3 motorway, the Zagreb bypass, and the Istrian Ypsilon. Increased traffic density was also noted on the Krk Bridge and along the Adriatic Highway. Authorities have warned drivers to exercise caution due to wet and slippery road conditions.
