Croatia highway accidents kill teen and severely injure motorcyclist
Two serious traffic crashes occurred on July 21 in Karlovac County, Croatia. Around 09:25 near Josipdol, a car traveling at excessive speed left the roadway, rolled onto its roof and struck a ditch. Four people were in the vehicle; a minor suffered life‑threatening injuries and later died, while the other three occupants escaped unharmed. Police are conducting a criminal investigation to identify the driver responsible.
Later that day, at about 15:40 on the A1 highway near Draganić, a 40‑year‑old Croatian motorcyclist braked sharply at excessive speed, collided with a passenger car and was thrown onto the carriageway. He was seriously injured despite wearing a protective helmet. Authorities will issue a traffic citation and forward the incident report to the state prosecutor's office.
