Croatia hosts regional gastronomic festivals in Piškorevci and Crikvenica
Croatia is hosting several regional gastronomic events focused on preserving culinary traditions. In Piškorevci, the fifth Tačkijada was organized by the Cultural and Artistic Society Zora. The event featured 16 teams and 77 participants competing to prepare ‘tačke’, a traditional Slavonian sweet made of dough filled with plum jam and topped with poppy seeds, walnuts, or breadcrumbs.
In Crikvenica, the 14th Month of Blue Fish is scheduled to run from September 18 to October 18, 2026. The month-long celebration aims to honor the region's fishing heritage and reintegrate blue fish into local restaurant menus. The opening festivities include cooking shows, such as a tuna preparation demonstration, wine tastings, and a gastro-quiz.
