Croatia launches free hands‑on STEM workshops for children

The University of Split’s Faculty of Science organized a week‑long “Summer Science Factory” in Split, where primary‑school pupils took part in interactive workshops on volcanoes, fossils, wind‑power lighting, wave physics and forensic science. Participants described the experience as “science is much more fun when you can experience it with your own hands.”

Separately, the “STEM bez barijera” project announced a series of free STEM workshops for children and students in August 2026 across several Croatian cities, including Vukovar, Slavonski Brod and others. The programme, co‑financed by the European Union’s European Social Fund and the Croatian state budget, is run by local NGOs and aims to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics accessible to all children, including those with developmental challenges.
