Croatia launches summer cinema season with Barone Fortress film and Ribnjak Spielberg series

The last week of June marked the start of Croatia's summer cultural programme at the Barone Fortress in Šibenik. On Wednesday, 24 June, the documentary *Biti u rodu s Johnom Malkovichem* by Luka Mavretić opened the Barone Summer Cinema, followed on Saturday, 27 June, by the Homage Collective's tribute concert to Sade, kicking off the Barone Jazz Festival. The film explores a family legend about a possible relation to actor John Malkovich and debuted internationally at the Krakow Film Festival. Tickets for both events are available at the fortress or the Arsen Art House.

Meanwhile, on Monday, 29 June, the rooftop of the Ribnjak Summer Cinema inaugurated a five‑film Spielberg retrospective titled “Ljeto s Spielbergom” as part of the “Tuškanac u gostima” series. The lineup opened with the cult classic *Jaws* (1975), continued with *Raiders of the Lost Ark* (1981), *E.T. the Extra‑Terrestrial* (1982), *Jurassic Park* (1993) and *The Lost World: Jurassic Park* (1997). The series will run through July at the Forum cinema.
