Croatia is marking the 35th anniversary of key events from the Homeland War through various regional commemorations.

In Šibenik, a panel titled ‘Rujanski War – The Female Face of Courage’ highlighted the experiences of medical professionals during the conflict. Dr. Danica Mihovilčević, an anesthesiologist, shared her recollections of serving as a young general practitioner at the Šibenik hospital during the Rujanski War, describing the intense challenges faced by medical teams treating the wounded and deceased.

In Brezik, the 6th Sports Games for Croatian Veterans were held to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the liberation of the Našice barracks from the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). Organized by the ‘Orao’ Special Police Association, the event brought together over 100 veterans from 17 different associations. The program included wreath-laying ceremonies at the local cemetery and sporting competitions aimed at fostering community among veterans from the Orahovica, Našice, Đakovo, and Valpovo regions.
