Croatia prepares for EU pay‑transparency rules and raises public‑sector salaries

The Croatian Chamber of Economy organised a seminar on the EU Pay Transparency Directive, which requires companies with more than 150 employees to report gender‑pay differences. Member states must transpose the rule into national law by 7 June 2026, and companies will have to submit reports by 7 June 2027. The chamber emphasised that the directive aims to ensure equal pay for work of equal value without mandating pay rises.

Separately, the Croatian government announced a raise in the salary base for public‑sector workers. From 1 August, the base will increase from €1,015 to €1,025 gross, affecting over 200,000 employees in health, education, social care, culture and science. This is the fourth base‑salary adjustment in 2026 and a step toward further increases planned for 2027.
