Croatia sees fatal motorcycle crash in Duga Resa and series of drunk‑driving arrests
A 64‑year‑old motorcyclist lost control on a curve near Duga Resa, Croatia, collided with a metal viaduct fence and later died in hospital. The incident is being forwarded to the state prosecutor for investigation.
In separate incidents, Croatian police detained a 52‑year‑old tractor driver in Pleternica with a blood‑alcohol level of 1.57 ‰ and imposed a €1,370 fine, a three‑month driving ban and penalty points. A 25‑year‑old driver was stopped for marijuana possession and refused blood and urine tests, facing a €1,350 fine and a three‑month ban. Additionally, a 31‑year‑old driver driving under a revoked licence was found with 1.85 ‰ alcohol, also receiving a fine, a three‑month ban and penalty points.
