Croatia signs contracts to upgrade football and equestrian sport venues

The City of Kaštel Sućurac and construction firm Jadro d.d. signed a contract on 22 July 2026 to rebuild the HNK Jadran football pitch. The €775,658 project, partly financed with €240,000 from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the rest from the municipal budget, will replace the natural grass with a 60‑mm artificial turf, install new lighting, irrigation, drainage, goals and seating, and meet Croatian Football Federation standards. While works are carried out over the next four months, the senior team will train at the HNK Val ground.

In the town of Sinj, the municipal administration concluded a contract with a selected builder to complete the equestrian hall—part of the European “Sinj u sridu” project—by 31 December 2026. The agreement secures €450,000 in funding and averts further penalties that could total €5 million. The hall, previously unfinished and unsafe, will become operational, preventing additional fines and protecting the city’s finances. Mayor Miro Bulj highlighted the responsibility taken to safeguard residents from past mismanagement.
