Croatia municipal sports facility contracts

The municipality of Sinj, Croatia, signed a contract on 23 July 2026 with a construction firm to finish the Interpretacijski Edukacijski Centar, a horse‑riding hall that had remained unusable for years. The agreement commits the hall to be operational by 31 December 2026, unlocking €450,000 from the city budget and averting a further €5 million penalty that threatened municipal finances.

Four days later, on 27 July 2026, the city of Kaštel Sućurac announced a separate contract to rebuild its HNK Jadran football pitch, replacing natural grass with artificial turf and adding lighting, irrigation, drainage and seating in a €775,658 project partly funded by the national Ministry of Tourism and Sport. The same announcement reiterated the Sinj equestrian‑hall contract, confirming its funding and deadline. Together the contracts illustrate a short‑term push by Croatian local authorities to upgrade sports venues and avoid costly penalties.
