Croatia social media fines warn Serbian travelers
Savo Štrbac, director of the Veritas information center, has issued a warning to Serbian citizens traveling to Croatia regarding potential legal consequences for their social media content. He noted that individuals could face significant fines, ranging from 500 to 4,000 euros, for posts deemed controversial by Croatian authorities.
Štrbac cited specific instances as examples, including a Serbian citizen who was fined 1,500 euros after posting a photo of Ratko Mladić on Facebook. He advised travelers to carefully review their digital profiles to avoid legal issues related to historical or political figures that may be sensitive within the Croatian legal framework.
