Croatia to privatize stakes in dozens of state-owned companies
The Croatian government is planning a multi-year privatization program to sell stakes in dozens of state-owned companies. Managed by the Center for Restructuring and Sale (CERP), the plan aims to sell stakes in 81 companies between 2025 and 2028. Key assets slated for sale include a 16.56% stake in Podravka, 30% of Croatia osiguranje, and 25% of Lučka operacija Rijeka. This divestment is partly driven by obligations to the OECD as Croatia seeks membership.
While 39 companies have been designated as being of special interest to the state and will not be sold, others remain on the list. Among those not currently included in the sale plan are Končar and certain holdings managed by the Capital Fund.
Separately, Pleter-usluge has been designated as a company of special state interest for 2026. The company, which provides military catering, accommodation, and logistics, reported 2025 revenues of 46.8 million euros, a 9.4% increase from the previous year. The company has focused on increasing employee costs and wages as part of its development strategy.
