Croatian Catholic Communities Hold Saint Anne Festivities in Germany and Croatia

On July 26, members of Croatian Catholic communities in Nagold, Germany celebrated the feast of Saint Anne and Saint Joachim with a solemn Mass led by Fr. Željko Baković. About 600 worshippers attended, accompanied by choirs from Nagold, Freudenstadt and Reutlingen, and a charity initiative raised funds for a 16‑year‑old girl in Croatia.

In Dubravac, Croatia, roughly 400 parishioners gathered for the traditional “Anino” celebration at the local parish, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. The event featured a 28‑metre jeger sausage, homemade bread, a balloon for children, and live music. Proceeds were earmarked for improvements to the chapel and surrounding area.

Both celebrations emphasized community solidarity, cultural heritage, and charitable giving within the Croatian diaspora and homeland.
