Croatian counties announce financial support for hunting development
Two Croatian counties, Vukovar-Srijem and Bjelovar-Bilogora, have launched initiatives to support the development of hunting and wildlife management.
In Vukovar-Srijem County, approximately 45,000 euros have been allocated through a public call to improve hunting conditions. This funding supports 20 approved applications for the renovation and equipping of hunting lodges and technical facilities. Total county investments in hunting for the year have reached roughly 85,000 euros, aligned with a development program for 2025–2029.
Bjelovar-Bilogora County has opened a public call for financial support for 2026, offering 12 different measures for hunters and concessionaires. Available subsidies include up to 4,000 euros for the construction or reconstruction of shooting ranges and up to 2,000 euros for other hunting infrastructure. Additional funds are designated for increasing wildlife stocks, such as pheasants and rabbits, and for protecting agricultural crops through repellents and electric fencing. The program also includes incentives for predator control and hunting-related educational activities.
