Croatian cultural associations showcase regional folklore at festivals

Various cultural associations in Croatia have been actively participating in regional folklore festivals to preserve and showcase local traditions.

KUD Metković recently performed at the Festa od folklora in Slano, representing the Neretva region with youth groups and a mandolin orchestra. Following their success, the group is preparing for the 23rd Festival dječjeg folklora Hrvatske in Vinkovci, where they have been granted accommodation by local authorities following their previous bronze medal achievement.

Additionally, the Kulturna udruga Sveti Martin from Dubrava represented the Moslavina region at the 9th Folklore Review in Šatorovići, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The association performed the choreography ‘Široka je Moslavina’, focusing on the preservation of traditional folk costumes, songs, and dances to pass heritage on to younger generations.
