Croatian footballer Ante Bogdan killed in motorcycle crash near Karlobag

Twenty‑one‑year‑old Croatian footballer Ante Bogdan died in a traffic accident on Sunday afternoon near Karlobag. He was riding a motorcycle from the direction of Zadar when he lost control near the Veliki Pržunac pass, close to the settlement of Barić Draga. The rider hit a roadside rock and then a stone fissure, and he was found dead at the scene, according to the Licko‑Senjska police.

Bogdan had recently played for DOŠK Drniš and previously for NK Omiš, as well as earlier stints with Dugopolje, Split, Adriatic and Omladinac. Both NK Omiš and NK Dugopolje issued statements expressing deep sorrow and extending condolences to his family, friends and the football community.

The incident has shocked the Croatian football world, with clubs and fans mourning the loss of a promising young player.
