34th Anniversary of Operation “Lipanjske Zore” Marked in Mostar and Stolac, Bosnia & Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina commemorated the 34th anniversary of the June 1992 military operation “Lipanjske Zore”, which liberated Mostar, the Neretva valley and the town of Stolac. In Mostar, a wreath‑laying ceremony was held before the central monument at the Croatian House of Stjepan Kosača, followed by a mass in the cathedral and a procession to the monument. Officials from the Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian government, and local authorities participated, including Croatia’s deputy prime minister and minister for veterans, Tomo Medved. In Stolac, a mass in the Church of St. Elijah preceded a march to the town’s central memorial, where wreaths were placed and candles lit. Speakers included local clergy, the mayor of Stolac, and representatives of veteran organisations, all paying tribute to the 68 fallen Croatian defenders and emphasizing the operation’s historic role in securing freedom for the region.
