Croatian Ministry allocates nearly €1 million to extracurricular school projects

On 31 August 2026 the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Youth approved funding for 104 projects under the call “Support for basic schools for extracurricular activities as preparation for full‑day school”. One approved project is the “Active schools” programme in Brodsko‑Posavska County, valued at €938,222.80 and fully financed by the European Social Fund plus (ESF+). The programme will be carried out in 17 primary schools across the county.

In a separate award, the primary school “Vitomir Širola – Pajo” in Nedešćina received €81,090 of non‑reimbursable ESF+ funds for its “Active students – school for knowledge, skills and community” project. Over two school years the initiative will launch 22 new extracurricular activities, including digital media, STEM, language clubs, arts, volunteering and community‑based programmes.
