Croatia government funding programmes

In July 2026, the Croatian government introduced a €47 million agricultural loan scheme, offering low-interest loans (as low as 0.1%) with partial principal forgiveness for farmers, especially young operators. The programme targets dairy, meat, livestock, beekeeping, fruit, and vegetable sectors and includes a €60,000 county-level project in Brodsko-Posavska to provide basic soil analyses and fertilisation advice for family farms.

Following this, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth expanded its support for educational development. On 31 August 2026, the Ministry approved funding for 104 projects under a call to support extracurricular activities in preparation for full-day schooling. This included the €938,222.80 “Active schools” programme in Brodsko-Posavska County, covering 17 primary schools, and an €81,090 award for the “Vitomir Širola – Pajo” school in Nedešćina to launch 22 new activities in STEM, digital media, and arts.

In early September 2026, the Ministry approved nearly €390,000 in additional grants for extracurricular projects in Kaptol, Pakrac, and Lipik. These two-year initiatives aim to support over 700 students. Specific allocations include €91,728.60 for Vilim Korajac Elementary School in Kaptol, €126,633 for Lipik Elementary School to procure equipment such as drones and VR goggles, and €169,804.50 for Braće Radića Elementary School in Pakrac for its “School – The Best Fun in Town” project.

Together, these steps illustrate a broader pattern of Croatian authorities deploying targeted financial resources across agriculture and education to modernise rural economies and enhance school-based learning opportunities.
