Croatian Olympic Committee appoints Milan Pavelić as acting Secretary General

The Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) Council has appointed Milan Pavelić as the new acting Secretary General. This follows the resignation of the previous acting Secretary General, Mihael Trkulja, who stepped down at his own request.

In conjunction with these leadership changes, the Council has canceled the existing public competition for the Secretary General position, which was originally announced in August, and will launch a new recruitment process. The decision follows a report from Trkulja regarding internal reorganization and financial measures, noting significant savings in certain segments exceeding 80 percent compared to the previous year.

Additionally, HOO President Josip Varvodić announced a new cooperation agreement with the Olympic Council of Asia. This partnership explores potential investments in Croatian sports infrastructure, including interest in constructing an Olympic center in the country in coordination with the government.
