Croatian Small Business Group Meets Finance Ministry Over New Tax Measures
More than 35,000 signatures were collected for the petition “Ne novim nametima!” (No new impositions!), submitted by small entrepreneurs, freelancers, and family landlords. The Association of Entrepreneurs (Glas poduzetnika, UGP) and related initiatives will meet the Ministry of Finance on 8 June 2026 to discuss analyses of proposed measures that affect micro, small and medium enterprises, flat‑rate tradespeople and small property rentals.
The groups are asking for transparent criteria on who participates in working groups, a systematic impact assessment of any new taxes or contributions before they are adopted, and regular dialogue with officials. They cite European principles such as “Think Small First” and “Better Regulation” and stress that those who will bear the costs of new rules must be involved in shaping them.
