Croatia hosts various regional veteran commemorations and honors

Various regional commemorations and honors for veterans of the Croatian Homeland War have taken place across Croatia.

In Petrinja, the 22nd Petrinjski sportski susreti branitelja combined sports competitions with a memorial service and a humanitarian art colony to benefit the local hospital. In Varaždin County, the 31st Dino Kunić Memorial sports meetings were held in Visoko, featuring activities such as chess, darts, and shooting to foster community among veterans.

Other events included the 17th Medački džep gathering in Jelenje, which honored the historical significance of the operation through religious services and community gatherings. In Slatina, the City of Slatina awarded a certificate of appreciation to the Military Police Veterans Association for their contributions to the defense of the region. Additionally, the Ivandol Volunteer Fire Department celebrated its 70th anniversary, honoring its history of service and community support.
