Croatia's First Biological Swimming Pool Opens in Čazma

Croatia opened its first public biological swimming pool in the town of Čazma, part of the Čazma Natura green‑tourism project. The facility uses natural filtration with aquatic plants and microorganisms instead of chlorine, covering about 1,665 m² and providing separate zones for swimmers, non‑swimmers, sunbathing, children and recreation. Amenities include changing rooms, showers, a catering area and a children’s playground. The pool aims to promote sustainable tourism and attract visitors from nearby counties and abroad, positioning Čazma as a leading eco‑tourism destination.

The bio‑pool was built in 2022 and highlighted in a July 29 2026 announcement as a milestone for environmentally friendly recreation in Croatia.
