Croatia’s Saint Anne festivals link Legrad and Osekovo
The 32nd edition of the ‘Dani svete Ane’ festival was held on July 25‑26 at the historic border crossing between Legrad, Croatia and Őrtilos, Hungary, on the Drava River. The two‑day programme featured boat rides across the river, a Mass at the Saint Michael’s church, a football match between local clubs, folk‑dance performances, a tambura band, and extensive food stalls, underscoring the tradition of cross‑border cooperation and community celebration.
In the neighboring parish of Osekovo, the Saint Anne celebration began with a morning Mass on July 11, followed by an art exhibition organized with the parish priest Damir Vrbešić. A series of sporting activities culminated in a football tournament on July 19, accompanied by badminton, table‑tennis and a children’s inflatables area. The events combined religious devotion, cultural displays and sport, reinforcing local identity and communal ties.
