Mexico issues alerts following multiple crocodile sightings
Multiple crocodile sightings across various regions in Mexico have prompted safety alerts and preventive measures.
In Puebla, the Capitanía de Puerto of the Valsequillo Dam has restricted activities such as swimming, fishing, and recreational boating due to the presence of a crocodile in the reservoir. The authority has notified the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) and Civil Protection to assist in locating the animal.
In Sisal, visitors expressed concern after observing a large crocodile near the shoreline, leading some to avoid entering the water. Meanwhile, in Tampico, an elderly man who had been reported missing in Ciudad Valles was found in the Cortadura Canal, where he narrowly avoided an encounter with a crocodile.
Authorities continue to urge the public not to approach, feed, or attempt to capture these reptiles, emphasizing the importance of reporting new sightings to emergency services.
