Crotone official requests flood prevention measures

Sebastiano Aloia, a city councilor in Crotone, has formally requested information and action from the Reclamation Consortium regarding flood risks in the Gabella area. Following an inspection on November 1, Aloia raised concerns about the maintenance of the Telesio, Fallao, and Ponticelli torrents, as well as a network of channels numbered 17 through 47.

The councilor noted that cleaning efforts appeared limited to only certain sections of the hydraulic network. He is seeking clarification on the effectiveness of completed works, the condition of river mouths to ensure proper water flow, and a schedule of maintenance performed in 2025 and 2026. Aloia has also requested a joint inspection with technical experts from relevant authorities to address potential obstructions that could lead to flooding of homes and agricultural land.
