Crotone prepares for San Dionigi Areopagita festivities
The city of Crotone is preparing for the festivities honoring its patron saint, San Dionigi Areopagita. The celebrations are scheduled to run from September 30 to October 9, involving a series of religious events, liturgies, and community traditions.
The program begins on September 30 with the start of the novena at the Basilica Cattedrale, featuring an inaugural Mass presided over by Monsignor Alessandro Saraco. Throughout the novena, daily Rosary recitations are planned for 17:15.
Specific days within the observance are dedicated to various themes, including prayer for vocations on October 1 and prayer for the sick and suffering on October 2. On October 8, the diocesan pastoral year will officially commence with a Mass led by Archbishop Alberto Torriani. The festivities will culminate on October 9 with the solemnity of the patron saint, including a Mass and a procession through the city streets.
