Crown Princess Victoria's birthday week events on Öland

Swedish royalty marked Crown Princess Victoria’s birthday week on the island of Öland with two public events. On Monday morning the Victoriagolfen tournament was held at Ekerum Golf Course, featuring Prince Daniel, newspaper editor Johan T Lindwall, Olympic champion Frida Karlsson and her father Leif Medin. Lindwall warned Daniel, “Watch out, we are gonna be dangerous,” as the competitors played in mild weather.

Later in the week the royal family gathered for the official birthday celebration. Brother‑in‑law Chris O’Neill, who has attended the festivities only intermittently, confirmed his appearance after the king reiterated strict dress‑code and protocol requirements for the occasion.
