CRPF to host Kohima Half Marathon in Nagaland on October 5
The 78 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), will host the State Level Kohima Half Marathon on October 5 at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima. The event is part of the ‘SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nation’ initiative, which aims to promote fitness, social harmony, and national integration through sports.
The marathon includes three age-based categories for both male and female participants. Those aged 18 to under 30 and those aged 30 to under 45 will compete in a 21-km race, while participants aged 45 and above will run a 10-km distance.
A total of 60 prizes, valued at ₹6.30 lakh, will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each category. The first-place prize is ₹30,000, with subsequent prizes of ₹20,000, ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 for positions five through ten. Organizers are encouraging participation from youth, students, and fitness enthusiasts across Nagaland.
