CRPF Spandan sports initiatives in Northeast India

Overview

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is conducting various athletic events under its ‘SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nation’ initiative in Northeast India.

In Manipur, the CRPF 86th Battalion organized a 10-kilometer marathon in Pinjang village, Noni district. The event, which saw participation from approximately 110 youths, aimed to promote peace, national unity, and steer youth away from social issues such as drug abuse.

Expanding the initiative, the CRPF 78th Battalion, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), announced a state-level half marathon in Kohima, Nagaland. Scheduled for October 5 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, the event features multiple age-based categories for both men and women, with prizes totaling ₹6.30 lakh.
