Cruise industry updates in Norway and entertainment shifts at NCLH
The cruise industry is seeing developments in both regional infrastructure and onboard service models. In Northern Norway, the Helgeland region is enhancing its cruise operations and shore excursion potential through sites like the Nordland National Park Centre. The centre offers cultural and nature-based experiences, including Sami coffee ceremonies and guided walks to locations such as the Junkerdalsura canyon and Kjemafossen waterfall.
Simultaneously, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) is shifting its entertainment strategy. Moving away from traditional Broadway musicals, the company is developing original, curated productions designed for shorter attention spans and higher audience engagement. To support this new direction, NCLH is conducting auditions for performers in Australia this October, covering Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
