Crunchyroll launches manga service in India with 250 titles

Crunchyroll has launched its manga service in India, offering a catalogue of over 250 English-language manga and light-novel titles. The collection includes works from J-Novel Club, Square Enix, and Yen Press, with action titles from VIZ Media expected to follow.

Available on iOS, Android, and web, the service is bundled with the Ultimate Fan membership, priced at ₹299 monthly or ₹999 annually. The expansion targets a significant demographic, as Crunchyroll reports that 81 per cent of Indian anime fans read digital manga at least monthly.

The service utilizes an operating model developed by Tokyo-based Link-U Group, where revenue is shared based on user engagement. Crunchyroll recently strengthened this partnership by taking a 7.03 per cent stake in Link-U in September 2026.
