Crunchyroll Manga international service expansion
Overview
Crunchyroll has expanded its digital manga subscription service to 11 new international markets following its initial 2025 launch in North America. The expansion includes the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and several South Asian nations such as India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
Powered by Japan’s Link-U Group, the service provides over 250 localized English titles from publishers including Square Enix, J-Novel Club, and Yen Press. In India specifically, the service is bundled with Ultimate Fan memberships and targets a demographic where Crunchyroll reports that ‘81 per cent of Indian anime fans read digital manga at least monthly’.
To support this growth, Crunchyroll strengthened its relationship with Link-U Group by acquiring a 7.03 per cent stake in the company in September 2026.
