Cruzeiro do Sul inaugurates elderly center and begins new school construction

As part of the 122nd anniversary celebrations of Cruzeiro do Sul, Mayor Zequinha Lima inaugurated the reconstructed and expanded Elderly Center. The project involved an investment of R$ 330,000, which included R$ 250,000 from a state deputy amendment and R$ 80,000 in municipal funds. The improvements include upgrades to the kitchen, dining hall, and ballroom, serving over 400 elderly residents monthly.

Additionally, the mayor signed the service order for the construction of the new Nise Varela de Almeida Municipal School in the Miritizal district. This project, valued at approximately R$ 1.7 million using FUNDEB/VAAT resources, will feature 10 classrooms. The new facility is intended to consolidate the Nise Varela and 21 de Abril schools into a single location, with construction expected to take five months.
