Cruzeiro do Sul municipal social and infrastructure projects
Overview
The municipal government of Cruzeiro do Sul has implemented several social and infrastructure initiatives. Initially, the City Hall signed agreements totaling R$ 650,000 to support local institutions, including Lar dos Vicentinos and Educandário, utilizing funds from various parliamentary amendments.
During the city’s 122nd anniversary celebrations, Mayor Zequinha Lima inaugurated the reconstructed and expanded Elderly Center. This R$ 330,000 project, funded by R$ 250,000 from a state deputy amendment and R$ 80,000 in municipal funds, features upgraded kitchen, dining, and ballroom facilities to serve over 400 residents monthly. Additionally, the administration signed the service order for the Nise Varela de Almeida Municipal School in the Miritizal district. This R$ 1.7 million project, utilizing FUNDEB/VAAT resources, aims to consolidate the Nise Varela and 21 de Abril schools into a single 10-classroom facility, with construction expected to last five months.
In terms of urban mobility, the City Hall has commenced the second stage of paving works on Rua Seabra near the AC-405 highway. This phase involves paving approximately 400 meters, building upon 300 meters already completed for a total of roughly 700 meters of recovered roadway. According to Secretary of Works Carlos Alves, the project includes drainage, earthmoving, and base preparation, with the final installation of curbs and guides to follow the asphalt application.
