Cruzeiro do Sul, Pucallpa flight talks boost Brazil-Peru Acre-Ucayali ties
Officials from Brazil's Acre state and Peru's Ucayali region met in Cruzeiro do Sul during the Expoacre Juruá fair to advance a proposed direct air link between Cruzeiro do Sul and Pucallpa. Governor Mailza Assis hosted regional governor Manuel Gambini Rupay, and both sides discussed broader transport cooperation, including a rail corridor and increased commercial exchange.
The delegation highlighted the potential economic benefits of the flight, citing tourism growth, easier movement of goods, and access to the Port of Chancay. Discussions also covered joint promotion of agricultural products and cultural ties, with a technical meeting of business leaders planned to prepare for the future airline operation.
