Tether launches USDT0 on Stellar as XRP exchange reserves decline

Tether has launched USDT0 on the Stellar network, utilizing the LayerZero interoperability standard to provide direct access to a unified USDT liquidity pool. This integration allows Stellar users to access liquidity across more than twenty chains, including Ethereum and Solana, without the need for wrapped tokens or custodial bridges. The deployment, managed by Everdawn Labs under Tether’s license, aims to simplify international settlements and reduce conversion costs for businesses and individuals in emerging markets.

Major platforms including Kraken, Bitget, Fireblocks, and SushiSwap already support the asset. This move is expected to strengthen Stellar’s role in cross-border payments by leveraging its low fees and fast settlement capabilities.

Separately, XRP exchange reserves on Binance have seen a significant decline. Since November 2025, monthly reserves have dropped from 3.1 billion to 2.6 billion XRP, representing an outflow of approximately 500 million tokens. Data indicates that whale-led withdrawals dominated these outflows, accounting for 84.25% of the movement on August 21. While this reduction in exchange-held tokens could tighten supply, it remains unclear if this represents long-term accumulation or simple relocation of assets.
