Crystal Jade closes four Singapore outlets and cuts 120 jobs
Restaurant group Crystal Jade has closed four additional outlets in Singapore and issued termination notices to approximately 120 employees. The closures, which took effect on October 6, include three Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao locations at Bugis Junction, Toa Payoh, and i12 Katong, as well as a Crystal Jade GO outlet at Oasis Terraces in Punggol.
These restructuring measures, implemented by advisory firm Kroll, are part of preparations for a proposed sale of the business. Following these closures and previous shutdowns earlier in the year, the group maintains nine operating outlets in Singapore with a remaining workforce of about 210.
Kroll stated that affected employees, including restaurant staff and certain corporate personnel, will receive salaries up to their final day of employment and compensation according to their contracts. The Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union (FDAWU) has been engaging with the receivers to support affected workers. In coordination with NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute, job openings in related sectors have been identified to assist displaced staff.
