Crystal Palace eyes several defenders as transfer window heats up

Crystal Palace has become one of the most active clubs in the English Premier League transfer market as it rebuilds its defence. After signing Japanese full‑back Takehiro Tomiyasu, the club is focusing on two Chelsea centre‑backs: 20‑year‑old academy graduate Josh Acheampong, who is being pushed for a season‑long loan to gain regular first‑team experience, and experienced French international Axel Disasi, who is seen as a safer, immediate option if the Acheampong deal does not materialise.

In addition, Palace are targeting 22‑year‑old Senegalese defender Antoine Mendy from OGC Nice. The French club has set a minimum price of €15 million, hoping the sale will bolster its summer budget. Palace will face competition from Italian sides Fiorentina and Udinese, which are also monitoring Mendy’s availability.
