César Sánchez Chavesta remains at large in Naldy Saldaña harassment case

The investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct against César Sánchez Chavesta, former musical director of the group La Bella Luz, continues in Peru. Sánchez Chavesta remains at large, with reports indicating he has no current travel restrictions or arrest warrants preventing him from leaving the country.

Legal experts suggest that if convicted of aggravated improper touching occurring in a workplace environment, Sánchez Chavesta could face between 6 and 9 years in prison. When combined with potential charges for harassment, the total sentence could reach approximately 17 years.

Naldy Saldaña’s attorney, Israel Castillo, stated that the defense possesses chat logs that may contradict the testimonies provided by certain former members of La Bella Luz. According to Castillo, these messages suggest that some group members were aware of the details of the case before it was made public. The defense intends to present this evidence to the Public Ministry at the appropriate time. Scheduled legal proceedings include a technical police inspection of the premises where the alleged incidents occurred.
