Csete Beáta quits Hungarian public TV after threats linked to Magyar Péter interview
Long‑time Hungarian broadcaster Csete Beáta ended her more‑than‑30‑year career at MTVA following a high‑profile interview with prime‑ministerial candidate Magyar Péter. The interview generated a public backlash, and sources say Beáta was repeatedly threatened and warned of physical violence on the streets. She continued for about two weeks after the interview before resigning of her own accord.
Beáta’s departure adds uncertainty to staffing at the public broadcaster, which has recently seen other personnel changes. She previously hosted news and numerous programmes such as Főtér, Napi mozaik, Ma Reggel, and contributed to radio shows on Kossuth Rádió and others.
