CSM Lugoj athletes win 31 medals at Romanian Parasport Games
Athletes from the CSM Lugoj club achieved significant success at the 2026 Romanian Parasport Games held in Bucharest from September 1 to 5. The event, organized by the National Paralympic Committee, featured approximately 300 para-athletes competing in various disciplines, including para-athletics, para-table tennis, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball, para-swimming, para-powerlifting, para-climbing, para-archery, adapted judo, and para-canoe.
The CSM Lugoj delegation, consisting of seven athletes, secured a total of 31 medals: 18 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze. Notable individual performances included Doina-Viorica Părăian, who won five gold medals in javelin, shot put, powerlifting, powerlifting open, and the 100m, along with two silver medals in table tennis. Gabriel Petru Dumitru earned four gold medals in shot put, javelin, discus throw, and powerlifting. Other high achievers included Mărioara Stămescu and Camelia Dijmărescu, who both secured three gold medals each.
