CSM Oradea loses opening water polo match to VK Radnicki
CSM Oradea opened their participation in the Ladislav Bottlik Memorial water polo tournament in Košice, Slovakia, with a 15-18 defeat against the Serbian champions, VK Radnicki.
The match was competitive in the early stages, with Oradea leading twice, at 1-0 and 2-1, through goals by Petar Velkic. However, VK Radnicki responded with a 4-0 run to take a 7-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. Despite efforts from Tudor Fulea, who scored three goals, and Levente Vancsik, the Serbian side maintained control, leading 11-7 at halftime.
In the final quarter, CSM Oradea attempted a comeback, narrowing the gap to 16-14 in the final minutes. Ultimately, VK Radnicki held their advantage to secure the win. Other scorers for Oradea included David Belenyesi, Ivan Gusarov, Petar Velkic, Levente Vancsik, Tibi Negrean, Sebi Oltean, Dmitrii Kholod, and Tommaso Insinna. Former Oradea goalkeeper Radoslav Filipovic played for the Serbian side.
CSM Oradea is scheduled to face Slovakia and Spandau 04 Berlin, followed by FTC Telekom Budapest, in the upcoming matches of the tournament.
