CSM Oradea water polo season activities

Overview

CSM Oradea’s water polo team has secured qualification for the Champions League group stages following a 10-8 victory against the French side Team Strasbourg. Played at the ‘Ioan Alexandrescu’ Olympic pool, the match was defined by a commanding 8-3 lead built by the third quarter, supported by defensive play and saves from goalkeeper Lazar Dobozanov.

In their National Superliga season opener on September 26, CSM Oradea defeated Rapid București 13-10 at the same venue. Despite an early lead by Rapid and a halftime score of 7-5, Oradea extended their lead to 11-6 in the third period. Petar Velkic led the scoring with four goals, while Tiberiu Negrean added three. The victory was achieved despite the absence of suspended player Dmitrii Kholod and injured players Tomasso Insinna and Bogdan Remeș.
