CSM Oradea secures Champions League qualifications in basketball and water polo

CSM Oradea has achieved significant success in two different sports, securing qualifications for European Champions League group stages in both basketball and water polo.

In basketball, CSM Oradea reached the final of the Basketball Champions League preliminary tournament in Samokov after defeating Georgia's BC Batumi 2010 with a score of 93-77. Despite an early nine-point deficit, the team rallied to take a 25-21 lead in the first quarter. British pivot Daniel Akin contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds to help secure the victory.

In water polo, CSM Oradea qualified for the Champions League group stages following a 10-8 victory against the French team Team Strasbourg. Played at the ‘Ioan Alexandrescu’ Olympic pool, the match saw Oradea build a commanding 8-3 lead by the third quarter thanks to strong defensive play and saves by goalkeeper Lazar Dobozanov. Although Strasbourg mounted a late comeback in the final quarter, Oradea held on to win.
